About — Costanza Parigi

I am a visual anthropologist, filmmaker, and researcher from Florence, Italy, currently based in Berlin. My work focuses on ethnography and education through audiovisual media.

My passion for this field began during my university years in Italy, where I took part in participatory workshops, field research, and multidisciplinary studies. These experiences inspired me to combine my interests in ethnographic research, education, and audiovisual production, leading to my current role at the Ethnological Museum of Berlin.

I hold a Master’s in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology from the University of Bologna, where I conducted field research in Manaus, Brazil, and an MA in Visual and Media Anthropology from HMKW University in Berlin. My professional experience includes collaborations with cultural institutions such as the Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna and the immersive documentary studio NowHere Media.

Since 2021, I have been part of the media department at the Ethnological Museum of Berlin, where I produce audiovisual materials, document projects in the Visual Anthropology section, and represent the department at international events.

2023: Workshop In the realm of Animated Documentary at Sinema Transtopia, Berlin. Animation techniques applied on documentary filmmaking. Led by animators Nazlı Kaya & Tomáš Doruška.
